Tiffany, a Tony winner for Once, dazzled audiences this season with his Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie. Tiffany earned a 2014 Tony Award nomination for his direction. The production is also Tony-nominated for Best Revival. The in-demand director also helmed Let the Right One In, Thorne's acclaimed stage adaptation of the dark Swedish novel and cult film by John Ajvide Lindq about a young boy who befriends a girl who hides a chilling secret, which recently transferred to London's Apollo Theatre after premiering at the Royal Court.
Producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender are developing the new stage production that will explore the origins of Harry Potter's story. Rowling will be a co-producer and will collaborate on the project, but not write it herself.
According to press materials, the brand-new play will explore the previously untold story of Harry's early years as an orphan and outcast. Featuring some of our favourite characters from the Harry Potter books, this new work will offer a unique insight into the heart and mind of the now legendary young wizard. A seemingly ordinary boy, but one for whom Destiny has plans.
