The Tony Award-nominated 1963 musical will launch the 2010-2011 season at Westport April 20-May 8. Westport artistic director Mark Lamos will stage the production. Jonathan Butterell is choreographer. Johnson (Before the Dawn, Shakespeare's R&J) will star as Georg, with Grové (Sunday in the Park with George, Thoroughly Modern Millie) as Amalia, Anderson (Wonderful Town, A Class Act) as Ilona Ritter and Tony nominee Sills (The Scarlet Pimpernel, Little Shop of Horrors) as Steven Kodaly.
The cast will also feature Michael McCormick (Curtains, The Pajama Game) as Ladislav Sipos, Lenny Wolpe (Wicked, The Drowsy Chaperone) as Mr. Maraczek, Christopher Shin as Arpad Laszlo and David Bonanno as Head Waiter/Keller.
The musical comedy by Joe Masteroff, Sheldon Harnick and Jerome Bock tells the tale of two lovesick pen pals who aren't as anonymous as they believe.
As part of the run, Tony-winning She Loves Me writers Masteroff, Bock and Harnick will take part in an April 25 discussion of their work with Westport associate artistic director David Kennedy.
Designing She Loves Me are Wayne Barker (music director), Riccardo Hernandez (scenic design), Candice Donnelly (costume design), Rui Rita (lighting design) and Domonic Sack (sound design).
