News Jorge Morales Named New Theatre Editor of Village Voice Jorge Morales has been appointed the Village Voice's new theatre editor. He replaces the departing Charles McNulty, who left to become the drama critic of the Los Angeles Times.

In addition to his editorial role, Morales will be responsible for administering the Village Voice Obie Awards. Morales has written about theatre, film, books, and culture for The Village Voice, where he was assistant editor and copy chief. He joined the paper in 2001. He holds degrees from the University of Puerto Rico and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He begins work Oct. 25.

McNulty held the position for a brief two-year period. Prior to that, Brian Parks was editor for five years. Parks assumed the post shortly after the death of legendary Voice editor Ross Wetzsteon in 1998.
