SINGAPORE-It is farewell to Joseph and his brothers as the 12 week run of Andrew Lloyd's Webber's Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat ends its run here in Singapore, Apr. 12.

Presented by the Singapore Press Holdings, the production stars Australian pop star David Dixon in the lead role of Joseph, Linzi Hateley as the Narrator from the original London production as well as 100 local children who alternates between the nights.

For this production of Joseph, 100 wigs were employed, not to mention the 120 pairs of shoes worn by the cast members. Not seen on the stage are also the 15 technical crew members, 35 microphones and the 20 seamstresses who worked behind the scenes ensuring that every scene moves perfectly.

Due to the Asian economic crisis, tickets for Joseph have not sold as well as hoped, compared to other Lloyd Webber musicals which have performed here before. Many of the unsold tickets had their prices slashed on the actual day of performance, on sale for as low as 50% off at the Kallang Theatre box office.

Still, the show must go on as it continues its way to New Zealand for the next leg of the tour and hopefully, New Zealand will wear "the coat of many colors" a little longer. --By Kelvin Chen
