Michael Shannon starred in the Off-Broadway production as paranoid, unhinged, veteran Peter whose sees insects everywhere. Judd will play Agnes, the lonely woman with whom Shannon holes up in a motel room. Collins, currently starring in As You Like It in Central Park, will play Judd's lesbian friend. William Friedkin will direct. Letts will write the screenplay. Friedkin hopes to begin filming in New Mexico this summer. The play is set in a hotel room in Oklahoma.
Friedkin is the director of the classic early '70s films "The French Connection" and "The Exorcist," though his output since then has been erratic.
