News Karimloo, Lark, Weller, Finley, Sutton, Bradley Heard on New Bluebird Recording A host of West End stars will be heard in a recording of a new war-themed musical titled Bluebird, which was penned by composer Gareth Peter.

The CD will hit musical theatre shops Sept. 14, which marks the 70th anniversary of the start of World War II.

The Escape Records disc features the talents of theatre actors Ramin Karimloo, Sarah Lark, Stephen Weller, Abi Finley, Gareth Chart, Robert Archibald, Gemma Sutton, Jeff Nicholson and Greg Bradley.

Bluebird, according to press notes, is a "passionate new musical, set during World War Two and charts the story of ordinary people living in extraordinary times. It tells the heartbreaking story of Roberta Jones (Sarah Lark) as she comes to terms with her husband Pete (Stephen Weller) going off to war. Roberta, a nurse, soon meets the charismatic U.S. serviceman Ben (Ramin Karimloo) and a friendship grows, much to the disapproval of best friend, Jane (Abi Finely)."

In a statement composer Gareth Peter said, "This is the biggest and most complex project I have tackled and feel touched to have worked with such an amazing cast. They fully embraced the piece and I am immensely proud of this album. It proves that there are still new British musicals being created."

Actor Ramin Karimloo added, "It was great to help out a new and up and coming British composer. He has put his heart and soul into this project. I think he’s done a great job and was honored to be asked to take part in it and also have a song written for me. It was also a lot of fun to go back to singing with a rockier sound." The 24-track single CD, with a 12-page booklet, will be available by visiting www.dresscircle.co.uk, www.soundofmusic.de or www.footlight.com.
