News Kennedy and Campbell Team for August Concerts Husband-and-wife acting couple Alan Campbell and Lauren Kennedy will offer a week's worth of concerts this summer in Raleigh, NC.

Kennedy, a Raleigh native, and Campbell will be part of the "Hot Summer Nights" series at the BTI Center for the Performing Arts' Kennedy Theatre. The couple, according to the theatre's official website, will perform "a variety of styles from rock to gospel, from country to swing, from theatre to art song." Performance dates are Aug. 17-20 and Aug. 24-28.

The summer season at the Kennedy Theatre will also feature appearances by Matt Bogart, Jessica Boevers, Nicholas Rodriguez and Kate Shindle. Shows include The Last Five Years (June 1-5, June 8-12), Graceland/Asleep on the Wind (June 15-19, June 22-26), Proof (June 29-July 3, July 6-10), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (July 20-24, July 27-31) and Starting Here, Starting Now (Aug. 3-7, Aug. 10-14).

Alan Campbell, most recently on Broadway in the Tony-winning dance musical Contact, portrayed Joe Gillis in the Los Angeles and Broadway productions of Sunset Boulevard, earning a Tony nomination for his work in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. Campbell has been seen Off-Broadway in Avow and Boogie Woogie, and his screen credits include "Jake and the Fatman," "Three's a Crowd," "Another World," "Matlock" and "Homicide."

Lauren Kennedy covered the role of Daisy Hilton in the Broadway production of Side Show and also appeared in the New York companies of Sunset Boulevard and Les Misérables. She starred in The Rhythm Club and was also a part of the early incarnations of Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years, playing the role that would be played Off-Broadway by Sherie Rene Scott, when Kennedy crossed the Atlantic to star in the National Theatre's revival of South Pacific. Kennedy also appeared in The Ten Commandments: The Spectacle Musical, and her debut solo CD is titled "The Songs of Jason Robert Brown."
