News Kevin Kline King Lear Tickets Go on Sale Jan. 7 Tickets for King Lear — starring Kevin Kline at the Public Theater — are available to the general public beginning Jan. 7. Tickets were previously only available to Public Theater members.

Previews in the Public's Anspacher Theater will begin Feb. 9; opening night is March 7; and closing night, barring an extension, is March 18. James Lapine directs. Kline’s credits at the Public include Richard III, Much Ado About Nothing, Henry V, The Pirates of Penzance, Hamlet (twice), The Seagull and Mother Courage and Her Children this past summer opposite Meryl Streep. He also won raves recently as Falstaff in Henry IV at Lincoln Center Theater.

Other upcoming shows at the Public include Passing Strange, a musical with book and lyrics by Stew and music by Stew and Heidi Rodewald; Craig Lucas' play Singing Forest, directed by Bartlett Sher; and A Free Man of Color by John Guare.
