News Kinky Boots Celebrates 1,500 Performances The Tony Award-winning musical hits a milestone tonight.

Kinky Boots, the winner of six 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, celebrates 1,500 performances on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre November 15.

Featuring a Tony Award-winning score by Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, and direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell, Kinky Boots has won every major Best Musical award since it opened April 4, 2013.

The Broadway production currently stars YouTube sensation and actor Todrick Hall, whose Broadway credits include Memphis and the original production of The Color Purple. He plays Lola through March 5, 2017.

The show is represented around the world with the Tony Award-winning Broadway company now in its fourth year, a North American first national tour in its third year, a London production in its second year (where it won the 2016 Olivier Award for Best Musical), and a Korean production that opened in September 2016 (a previous Korean production played in 2014). An Australian production recently opened in October 2016. Other previous productions include an extended run in Toronto and a Japanese-language production.
