News Klea Blackhurst, Ching Valdes Aran, Deborah S. Craig and Ralph Pena Will Honor David Merrick at Ma-Yi Theater Company Gala The late Broadway producer David Merrick will be honored at the Ma-Yi Theater Company's gala March 24.

Held at the the Hudson Theater, the gala, which honors the theatre company's 25th anniversary, will include performances of musical numbers from 42nd Street, Gypsy, Oliver! and Hello, Dolly!

Lee Roy Reams (Hello, Dolly!, The Producers) will headline the evening, along with Klea Blackhurst, Ching Valdes Aran (The Wild Party), Deborah S. Craig (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and Ralph Pena, artistic director of Ma-Yi Theater.

Ma-Yi Theater's Board of Directors is chaired by Merrick's widow, Etan.

The gala will also honor filmmaker and musician Bessie Badilla; Ernest Escaler, chairman of the Asian Cultural Council/Philippines; and Cao K. O, co-founder and former executive director of Asian American Federation of New York.

Ma-Yi Theater Company is a not-for-profit organization whose primary mission is to develop and produce new and innovative plays by Asian-American writers. Tickets range from $100 to $500 with tables of 10 for $3,000 and $5,000.
