The Drama Dept., the Off-Broadway troupe with a string of recent successes to its credit, will celebrate the work of George S. Kaufman in By George!, a fund raiser to be held June 22 at the Roundabout Theatre Company's Laura Pels Theatre.

Daniel Goldfarb has adapted sketches, essays and letters by the playwright, librettist, screenwriter and director. The work will be directed by Drama Dept. member David Warren and performed by actor members Judy Kuhn, Mary Beth Peil, Billy Crudup, Justin Kirk and J. Smith Cameron (Drama Dept.'s As Bees in Honey Drown), as well as guests John Goodman (The Skin of Our Teeth) and Ragtime composer Stephen Flaherty.

Kuhn and Peil are in the company's production of the 1933 Irving Berlin Moss Hart revue, As Thousands Cheer, currently playing at the Greenwich House Theatre.

Helping to host the event (and also performing) are Kaufman and Hart heirs Anne Kaufman Schneider and Kitty Carlisle Hart. The performance is at 8 PM. Cocktails and a buffet supper follow at the nearby Broadway Grill. Tickets are $200-$1,000. For information call (212) 541-8441.
