News   L.A. Company of Wicked Will Offer "Behind the Emerald Curtain" Tours Beginning June 26 the Los Angeles company of Wicked at the Pantages Theatre will offer "Behind the Emerald Curtain" tours, a look at the creative journey of the hit musical.

The 90-minute experience — which will be offered every Tuesday at 5 PM at the Pantages — includes a visit to the "Behind the Emerald Curtain Museum"; an examination of Susan Hilferty's Tony-winning Wicked costumes; the chance to see many of the show's props and wigs as well as Eugene Lee's set model for the Los Angeles mounting; the viewing of film footage about the making of the international hit musical and production photos of the various Wicked companies; a question-and-answer session with current Wicked cast members; and exclusive merchandise only available to tour takers.

The open-ended Los Angeles run of Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman's Wicked co-stars Eden Espinosa as the green-faced Elphaba and Megan Hilty as the curly locked Glinda. The cast also features John Rubinstein as The Wizard, Carol Kane as Madame Morrible, Kristoffer Cusick as Fiyero, Jenna Leigh Green as Nessarose, Adam Wylie as Boq and Timothy Britten Parker as Doctor Dillamond.

Based on Gregory Maguire's novel, which turned every Oz myth inside out, Wicked explores the early life of the witches of Oz: Glinda and Elphaba. The two main characters meet at Shiz, a school where both hope to take up sorcery. Glinda is madly popular and Elphaba is, well, green. By a misunderstanding, they wind up roommates and, after an initial period of mutual loathing, begin to learn something about each other. Their life paths continue to intersect through a shared love, entry into the Emerald City and interaction with the Wizard himself. Eventually, their choices and convictions take them on widely different paths.

Tickets for "Behind the Emerald Curtain," priced $25, are available by calling (213) 365-3500, by logging on to www.ticketmaster.com or by visiting the Pantages Theatre box office (6233 Hollywood Boulevard).
