So you think you might be the next August Wilson or Tony Kushner? Here's the chance to put your script where your dreams are. La Habra Depot Theatre in California is seeking new one-act plays by students in middle school, high school or college.

The prize? A full production as part of th theatre's first "New Playwright Forum" this winter.

Winning plays will be staged at the Depot Theatre in La Habra Jan. 10-18, 1997.

Plays should be 20-45 minutes long with a maximum of six characters. Simple sets, props and costumes are other prerequisites. Comedies, dramas, or experimental genres are all welcomed. However, a strict policy against any vulgar, obscene or improper subject matter or language will be adhered to.

Artistic Director Christian Wolf said, "Our goal is to offer new talent the ability to see their written works produced on stage in an atmosphere that is supportive to their creativity." Winning writers will be asked to attend auditions and rehearsals so that their input can be sought. Wolf said, "We hope to be able to have a winner from each school level. However, that will depend greatly on the amount of submissions we get."

Submissions should be in standard play format. Deadline for submission is Sept. 30. Send entries with a self-addressed stamped envelope to:
