L.A. Theatreworks, which has been producing radio plays with top stars in Los Angeles for the past decade, is now offering its body of work via a national catalogue promotion.
Such actors as Edward Asner, Richard Dreyfuss, Michael York, Lindsay Crouse, Ed Begley, Jr. and Walter Matthau are featured in the forty-two shows listed in the catalogue. Titles include drama, comedy, musicals, documentaries, novels and famous trials. Among the writers represented are George Bernard Shaw, Noel Coward, Sinclair Lewis, Eric Bentley, John Guare, Simon Gray and Larry Gelbart, to name but a few.
Most Theatreworks plays are recorded in front of a live audience and broadcast later over KCRW, a local public radio station. The company also donates many of its shows to schools in a project called "Alive & Aloud." All of these shows are accompanied by innovative curriculum study guides.
