News Larry Pine and Paul Rudd Featured in Character Assassins Play Reading Paul Rudd and Larry Pine will star in a reading of a new play by Charlie Shulman, Character Assassins. The event will take place at the Samuel Beckett Theatre on W. 42nd Street on April 21.

The play uses a Deathtrap-like conceit to explore the conventions of the theatre. Shulman is a product of Playwrights Horizons' Young Playwrights Festival and teaches at NYU. John Ferraro will direct. Rudd has appeared in the New York premieres of two Neil LaBute plays, The Shape of Things and bash. He also starred in the Lincoln Center Theater production of Twelfth Night and the Broadway premiere of The Last Night of Ballyhoo. Pine starred with Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline in the Central Park production of The Seagull. Another Chekhov credit is the Andre Gregory film, "Vanya on 42nd Street," also starring Julianne Moore and Wallace Shawn. His Off-Broadway credits include Mizlansky/Zilinsky.
