Oct. 23, no one at the Sacred Fools Theatre in L.A. will be saying a word. That's intentional for Tongue-Tied Tales, an evening of six short plays, specifically created to include little or no dialogue. Tongue-Tied Tales, featuring five world premieres, plays through Nov. 14.
Couples in love, Ariel and Puck and the figures in famous paintings populate Tongue-Tied Tales. The authors are Aldrich Allen, Ina Burke, Louisa DeBoo, Alexander Yannis Stephano and Ken Tesoriere.
Producer Kirstin J. Burbank conceived Tongue-Tied Tales while working with Tesoriere on Time, included in the evening. Burbank recently performed in and choreographed in the Sacred Fools' Brazila-set The Comedy of Errors.
Tongue-Tied Tales features Amy Bryson, Burbank, Aaron Francis, Mary Hayes, Darrin Jaques, Joe Jordan, Crystal Keith Corey Klemow, Majken Larsson, Peter Mattsson, Lisa Anne Nicolai, Matthew Saxe, Ariadne Shaffer, Tyler Tanner, Jeff Taylor, Shani Tennyson and Jessie Thompson.
