Pittsburgh's Civic Light Opera closes the Robert Wright-George Forrest Maury Yeston musical Grand Hotel July 18 at the Benedum Center. The show began performances July 13. Edmund Lyndeck (Sweeney Todd) and Natalie Mosco (London's Grand Hotel) star. Bruce Lumpkin (London's Grand Hotel) directs.

CLO regular Lyndeck plays Colonel Doctor Otternschlag. Lyndeck, a Dramalogue Award winner for Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd, a role he created on Broadway, played Scrooge in CLO's A Musical Christmas Carol from 1992-95, as well as turns in CLO productions of 1776, Carousel, Oliver! and The Secret Garden.

Mosco recreates the role of the ballerina, Elizaveta Grushinskaya, which she played in London. Her Broadway credits include the original cast of Hair and The Magic Show.

Also in the cast are Bill Bateman (Willibald, Captain of the Bellboys), Justin Brill (Hans Bittner), John Francis Brown (Werner Holst), Bonnie Diaz (the Countess), Tony Freeman (Otto Kringelein), Tim Harman (Doorman), David Hess (the Baron, Felix Von Gaigern), Joan Hess (Sigfriede Holzheim), Jeff Howell (Sande), David Jackson (Jimmy No. 1), Gwendoyln Jones (Madame Peepee), John-Charles Kelly (Zinnowitz), Matt Lashey (Erik), Aaron Lazar (Gunther Gustafsson), Frank X. Leusner (Franz Kohl), Connie Nelson (Raffaela), Gavan Pamer (Kurt Kronenberg), Jill Powell (the typist Flaemmchen), Scott P. Sambuso (Georg Strunk), Dan Schiff (Rohna), Matt Stokes (Ernst Schmidt), Gary Taggart (General Director Preysing), Robet Vance (the Gigolo), Merrill West (Wolffe Bratts) and David A. White (Jimmy No. 2).

Richard Stafford is the choreographer. His past credits include Dance Supervisor for Broadway's Cats, Dodsworth with Hal Linden and Grossinger's with Gavin Macleod.
