Scott Schwartz directed the production, which featured an ensemble cast including Tony Award nominees Harry Groener and Orson Bean, as well as Eileen Barnett, Kaitlin Hopkins, Michael Kostroff, Kenna Ramsey, Vickilyn Reynolds, Vincent Tumeo and B.J. Ward.

The broadcast will air in Southern California from 10 PM-midnight on 89.3 KPCC. It will also be available for on demand streaming at LATW.org.

Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Pippin) adapted Turkel's Pulitzer Prize-winning work along with Nina Faso for Broadway in 1978. Despite its short-lived run, Working earned Tony nominations for Best Score and Best Book. Schwartz penned songs for the musical along with Taylor, Carnelia, Micki Grant, Mary Rodgers and Susan Birkenhead.

Standout songs in the production include "The Mason," "Just A Housewife," "It's An Art" and "Fathers and Sons."

According to LATW, "Studs Terkel's Working is for anyone who has ever punched a clock, a cow, or a supervisor -- or wanted to. This rousing musical is based on Terkel's interviews with American workers, which was first published in 1974. It is an exploration of what makes work meaningful to people in all walks of life, with songs and stories about real experiences, bringing to life the soul of the American worker."

The musical was most recently re-explored in 2011 when a revised version, with added songs by Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights), played Chicago under the direction of Gordon Greenberg.
