Directed by Daniel Haley with musical direction by Jessica Stewart, the musical will be presented Sept. 12-14 at The Duplex on Christopher Street. Show time each night is 7 PM.
The cast will feature Lee Cavellier, Clare Chihimbakwe, Ryan Hallett, Rachael Lee, Jean McCormick, Andy McLeavey, Billy Sharpe, Jennifer Teska and Rachel Louise Thomas. Suzanne Adams and Hector Coris are the producers.
Goldilocks features a book by Walter Kerr and Jean Kerr, lyrics by the Kerrs and Joan Ford, and a score by Leroy Anderson. The Opening Doors production will focus on the show's score — including three songs cuts from the original production ("Tagalong Kid," "Little Girls Should Be Seen" and "My Last Spring") — with a truncated book.
The musical, according to press notes, is described as such: "When the financial backing to a huge epic movie threatens to walk away, a tyrannical director tricks his leading lady into staying on the set while he tries to figure out how to complete his movie - and not fall in love!"
Goldilocks played Oct. 11, 1958-Feb. 28, 1959 at Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The cast featured Don Ameche, Elaine Stritch, Russell Nype and Pat Stanley; Nype and Stanley won Tonys for their performances. The Duplex is located in Manhattan at 61 Christopher Street.
