"Speechless" joins the 1992 film's roster of songs, written by Menken with lyricists Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. None of the songs added to the Broadway adaptation—which include several tunes written for but cut from the 1992 film—have been used in the new live-action film.

The stage adaptation of Disney’s Aladdin continues to run on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre, having celebrated its five-year anniversary in January.
