News Live Reading of "The Apartment" Will Feature Paul Rudd, Emma Stone, James Woods, Tom Cavanagh and More A live reading of Billy Wilder and I.A.L. Diamond's script for the 1960 film "The Apartment" will be presented April 27 at 7:30 PM at Manhattan's TimesCenter.

Directed by filmmaker Jason Reitman, the starry cast, according to the New York Times, will be headed by Paul Rudd as C.C. Baxter (the role created in the film by Jack Lemmon) and Emma Stone as Fran Kubelik (Shirley MacLaine in the film).

The company will also include James Woods as Baxter’s boss, Sheldrake; Tom Cavanagh as Dobisch; Cara Buono as Sheldrake’s secretary, Miss Olsen; and David Wain as Baxter’s neighbor Dr. Dreyfuss with Jason Sudeikis and Lena Dunham.

The film, which was also directed by Wilder, also featured Fred MacMurray, Ray Walston and David Lewis, among others. The motion picture won Academy Awards for Best Screenplay, Best Film and Best Director.

The Broadway musical Promises, Promises was based on the award-winning film.
