News London's Donmar Announces Absurdia Cast London's Donmar Warehouse has announced the cast for Absurdia, the venue's triple-bill celebration of British absurdism featuring the world premiere of Michael Frayn's The Crimson Hotel and revivals of N.F. Simpson's A Resounding Tinkle and Gladly Otherwise.

The cast for Absurdia, which officially opens July 31 following previews that begin July 26, will include Lyndsey Marshal and Peter Capaldi.

All three plays are directed by Douglas Hodge, who is currently performing with Marshal at the National in A Matter of Life and Death.

Marshal was last seen at the Donmar in Boston Marriage, and her stage credits include the Almeida revival of The Hypochondriac.

Capaldi's theatre credits include Feelgood in the West End and The Judas Kiss in the West End and on Broadway.

For Absurdia Marshal and Capaldi are joined onstage by John Hodgkinson (The Front Page at the Donmar) and Judith Scott (The Crucible). The triple-bill marks Hodge's Donmar directorial debut. The actor/director played Nathan Detroit in Michael Grandage's West End revival of Guys and Dolls and has previously performed at the Donmar in Pinter's The Collection and The Lover. In 1957 A Resounding Tinkle was the play that launched N.F. Simpson as Britain's leading absurdist playwright. His relationship with the Royal Court, where Tinkle premiered, continues with a reading of his latest play If So, Then Yes.

Frayn's extensive list of credits include Noises Off, Copenhagen and Democracy, for which the playwright and novelist won the Best Play Tony Award in 2000.
