News   London's Les Miserables Confirms New Cast; Production to Close Briefly for New Sound System The London cast of Les Miserables will see Caroline Sheen, Alexia Khadime, Craig Mather, Katy Secome, Liame Tamne and Lisa-Anne Wood join the company in principal roles. They will join the previously announced Aflie Boe, Hadley Fraser and Matt Lucas, all of whom will begin performances June 23.

It has also been announced that the production will shutter for three days, following the evening performance June 18, in order to facilitate the installation of a brand-new state-of-the-art surround sound system and the building of a bigger pit to accommodate the slightly larger orchestra necessary to play the new 25th Anniversary Tour orchestrations. The production will re-open with the new cast and musicians June 23.

Sheen, who will play Fantine, has previously appeared in Les Miserables as Eponine; she most recently played the title role in Mary Poppins on the UK and US tours. For the Washington, DC stand at the Kennedy Center, she won the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actress. Other West End credits include creating the role of Jennifer Gabriel in The Witches of Eastwick, and starring in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at the National Theatre.

Khadime, who will play Eponine, has starred as Elphaba in the West End company of Wicked, and appeared as Nala in The Lion King.

Secombe, who will play Madame Thénardier, has been seen as Rosie in Mamma Mia! in the West End, in Guys and Dolls at the National Theatre, and as Mama Morton in the tour of Chicago.

Tamne, who will play Enjolras, has been seen as Link Larkin in Hairspray in the West End and has also been seen in Hair and Wicked.

Mather, who will play Marius, and Wood, who will play Cosette, are both making their West End debuts in this production.
