News London's Southwark Playhouse to Bid Farewell to Current Home with Premiere of Philip Ridley's Feathers in the Snow London's Southwark Playhouse is to bid farewell to its current home near London Bridge station with the world premiere of Philip Ridley's Feathers in the Snow, beginning performances Dec. 5 prior to an official opening Dec. 7, for a run through Jan. 5.

It will be directed by David Mercatali, associate director at the theatre, who also staged Ridley's Tender Napalm there in 2011.

Feathers in the Snow is described in press materials as an "epic story of magic and migration. Covering over five hundred years - and with a huge cast - it explores how stories give meaning to random events and our constant need to find somewhere we call 'home'."

The theatre will be temporarily relocating to new premises while development work is carried out to London Bridge station that runs overhead. More details on the new venue are to be announced in October.

Casting and further creative details are to be announced.
