News London's Union Theatre Presents Revival of Once Upon a Mattress Beginning Nov. 29 Performances begin Nov. 29 for a new production of the 1959 Broadway musical Once Upon a Mattress at London's Union Theatre, prior to an official opening Dec. 1, for a run through Jan. 5.

The show, based on the popular fairytale "The Princess and the Pea," features music by Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer and book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller and Barer. Kirk Jameson, who last directed Dames at Sea for the Union, returns to direct, with choreography by Racky Plews, who recently directed The Sensational Josephine Baker at New York's Beckett Theatre. The musical director is Alex Parker, who recently worked on Stiles and Drewe's Soho Cinders at the Soho Theatre.

The cast includes Jenny O'Leary as Winnifred, Paddy Glynn as Queen Aggravain, Denis Quilligan as King Sextimus, Mark Anderson as Prince Dauntless, Kimberly Blake as Lady Larkin, Stiofan O'Doherty as Sir Harry, Daniel Bartlett as Jester, Ashley Cooper as Sir Studley, and Danielle Morris, Lucy Mills, Natalie Bennyworth, Ryan Limb, Matthew Daw and Gregory Hazel as ensemble members.
