Arvin Brown may no longer be the artistic director of New Haven, CT's Long Wharf Theatre, but his legacy, and that of his wife, actress, Joyce Ebert, is well-remembered.
Ebert, who died at age 64, Aug. 28, 1997, from cancer, appeared in more than 80 Long Wharf productions. Her shows there included 1983's Pal Joey and 1981's This Story Of Yours. In 1987, she played Kate Keller in a Long Wharf mounting of All My Sons that moved to Broadway's John Golden Theatre.
She will be memorialized in "A Celebration Of Life," at 4 PM, Oct. 27, at the mainstage, Newton Schenck theatre. For more information on the service please call (203) 488-6152.
In April, Brown bowed out of directing his last production at Long Wharf, The Joy Luck Club, to be with his ailing wife. Douglas Hughes is the venue's new artistic director.
