John Wilson will conduct the London Symphony Orchestra; the cast will be led by Nathaniel Hackmann (Les Miserables) as Gabey and Louise Dearman (Side Show) as Hildy.
On the Town features music by Bernstein and a book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. Based on an idea by Jerome Robbins, the musical love letter to Manhattan opened on Broadway at the Adelphi Theatre in December 1944.
Following the adventures of three sailors on shore leave in New York City in 1944, On the Town features such standards as “New York, New York,” “Lonely Town,” and “Some Other Time.”
