News "Love and Other Drugs," with Gyllenhaal, Hathaway, to Open AFI Fest; "Black Swan," with Portman, to Close It "Love and Other Drugs," a romantic drama starring Academy Award nominees Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, will open the American Film Institute's AFI Fest 2010 in a gala screening Nov. 4 in Hollywood.

The 20th Century-Fox film will officially be released Nov. 24. It is directed by Ed Zwick from a screenplay by Charles Randolph, based on James Reidy's book "Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman." Gyllenhaal will play said salesman, who meets and falls for a woman with Parkinson's disease, played by Hathaway, an Academy Award nominee for "Rachel Getting Married" who is also known for her appearances in films like "The Princess Diaries" and "The Devil Wears Prada," and has appeared in Twelfth Night for the Public Theater and Carnival! for City Center Encores! She and Gyllenhaal previously appeared together in "Brokeback Mountain," which earned Gyllenhaal an Oscar nomination.

"Black Swan," a ballet drama starring Natalie Portman and directed by Darren Aronofsky, will close the festival Nov. 11. The film will be released nationwide Dec. 1.

Portman, an Oscar nominee for "Closer," has appeared on Broadway in The Diary of Anne Frank and in The Seagull for The Public Theater. Her other screen credits include "The Other Boleyn Girl," "V for Vendetta," the "Star Wars" prequels and "Garden State," among others.
