NY's Ensemble Studio Theatre will present their annual gala supper and performance entitled, Gala '99, saluting Bradley J. Siegel, March 22. Siegel is the president of Turner Network Television (TNT) and Turner Classic Movies (TCM).
The evening will be hosted by Lucie Arnaz (Lost in Yonkers), with special guest artists Matthew Broderick, Boyd Gaines, Rusty Magee, and a dinner reading of Wendy Wasserstein's one-act, Tender Offer. (EST premiered the show in 1982.) Arnaz's husband, Laurence Luckinbill, is currently doing his one-man show, Clarence Darrow Tonight, at E.S.T.
The announcement of the first winner of the annual James Hammerstein Fellowship is also on tap for the evening. The award will be given to a new writer whose first play is being presented in this season's Marathon of One-Act Plays. The prize is named after the late James Hammerstein, a Board Chairman of EST, who died earlier this year.
The evening's Vice Chairs are Jane Fonda (wife of Ted Turner and owner of both networks), and New Line Cinema's Michael Lynn and Robert Shays.
Tickets for the gala event, at Laura Belle (120 West 43rd Street) are $150 and may be purchased by phone at (212) 794-1780. -- By Sean McGrath
