The film features the voices of Broadway and television stars Christian Borle, Megan Hilty and Tom Cavanagh.
"Lucky Duck" includes six original songs, including the ballad "I'm a Lucky Duck," the up-tempo "Tub Toy Twist" and the heartfelt "Friends Will See You Through."
The movie was directed by Don Kim and written by WGA Award winner Michael G. Stern. The songwriters are Rick Garcia and William V. Malpede, and the underscore was written by Frederik Wiedmann.
The story, according to press notes, "introduces an unflappable rubber ducky with a broken squeaker named Lucky (voiced by Borle) and two kindred spirits – an extroverted hippo with mis-matched eyes named Flo (voiced by Hilty) and a timid turtle named Snap (voiced by Cavanagh) – as the they find themselves stranded at sea when the cargo ship they are being transported on is caught in a storm."
Geared towards kids age two-seven and their families, the adventure at sea is a production of Nelvana Studio in association with Disney Junior. Executive producers are Nelvana Studio's Irene Weibel and Colin Bohm.
