News Luker and Boston Reunite for Saint Heaven Musical Reading Tony Award winner Gretha Boston and Rebecca Luker, who starred in the most recent Show Boat revival, will be featured in a reading of a new musical by Keith Gordon and Martin Casella.

Saint Heaven, which is set in 1957 Kentucky, will be presented Nov. 1 at The York Theatre Company's venue at The Theatre at Saint Peter's. Part of the York's Developmental Reading Series, the free reading will be directed by Ted Sod. Show time is 7:30 PM. Based on Steve Lyons' novel "The Gift of Tongues," Saint Heaven concerns the tale of "Thom Rivers, a rebellious young doctor [who] returns home for his father’s funeral, where he falls in love with a black woman preacher who speaks in tongues. Believing her to be suffering from epilepsy, he attempts to treat her." The musical features a contemporary gospel and R&B score.

Martin Casella wrote the books for the musicals Paper Moon and Taking Care of Mrs. Carrol. Keith Gordon penned the score for the upcoming musical How to Marry a Millionaire.
