LOS ANGELES -- The latest play in the series being presented by Theatre of Hope for Abused Women (T.H.A.W.), My Client's a Lunatic, will open June 7 for a six-week run at Bitter Truth Theatre.

Based on true events, the play (a West Coast premiere) is a courtroom drama dealing with the potential liability of a security firm when one of its guards rapes a woman at an airport. A 1996 Florida production won the White-Willis Theatre Twelfth Annual New Playwright Award.

Playwright Claudia Adams wrote for the TV series Cagney and Lacey. Her play Police Officers' Wives ran last year at the Ventura Court Theatre. Janet Bernson is the director.

Featured in the cast are Jillian McWhirter, Michael Groves, Gloria Juarez, Graeme McKenna, Kevin McKim, J.J. Miller, Kurt Sinclair, Joe D. Smith, Thia Stephan, Chelsea Taylor, Diane Van Buren, Marty Warner and Simon Williams.
