News LuPone Gets to "Heart" of the Matter at Paper Mill Playhouse, March 20 Patti LuPone (together with musical director David Gallagher) will perform her show, "Matters of the Heart," at the Paper Mill Playhouse at 8 PM on March 20. LuPone's one-night-only engagement at New Jersey's State Theatre follows a successful staging of the same show at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theatre this past fall.

Patti LuPone (together with musical director David Gallagher) will perform her show, "Matters of the Heart," at the Paper Mill Playhouse at 8 PM on March 20. LuPone's one-night-only engagement at New Jersey's State Theatre follows a successful staging of the same show at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theatre this past fall. LuPone's show at Lincoln Center included Rodgers and Hammerstein's "I'm In Love with A Wonderful Guy," Randy Newman's "Real Emotional Girl," Stephen Sondheim's "Being Alive," John Bucchino's "Playbill," Judy Collins' "My Father," and Gilbert O'Sullivan's "Alone Again (Naturally)." Her recently released her latest CD "Matters of the Heart" (LayZLay Records/Varese Sarabande), was named one of the best recordings of 1999 by the Times of London and Time Out/New York.

LuPone's credits include Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd (NY Philharmonic debut); David Mamet's The Old Neighborhood; Maria Callas in Master Class ; Patti LuPone on Broadway ; Vera Simpson in Pal Joey for City Center Encores!; The Cradle Will Rock, Nancy in Oliver!; Dario Fo's Accidental Death of an Anarchist Eva Peron in Evita; David Mamet's The Water Engine, Edmond and The Woods; Israel Horovitz' Stage Directions; Working; and Rosamund in The Robber Bridegroom among numerous others.
