When actor John Epperson's fabulous diva creation, Lypsinka, sold out the last weekend of her extended run at the Westbeth Theatre Center late last month, an engagement in November was already anticipated. The Publicity Office has now confirmed that Lypsinka! The Boxed Set will return to the Westbeth Nov. 8-Dec. 31, with an official press opening slated for Nov. 19.
This has been the first New York appearance in seven years for Lypsinka. Performances for the initial run began Sept. 7 at the Westbeth Theatre Center, and an extension beyond the original Sept. 24 close date was added, through Sept. 30.
TWEED TheaterWorks and Russell Scott Lewis presented the limited run of the concert artist whose performances to the soundtrack of classic divas have been lauded around the world.
Lypsinka's star turns have been seen in I Could Go On Lip Synching Off Broadway and in Los Angeles, The Fabulous Lypsinka Show, Lypsinka! Now It Can Be Lip Synched, Lypsinka! A Day in the Life, Lypsinka! As I Lay Lip Synching and Lypsinka Must Be Destroyed! (only in San Francisco). S/he has performed in Tokyo and Paris.
