Actors and, more specifically, cabaret artists, are invited to attend a Jan. 8 seminar sponsored by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC) on the ins and outs of casting. Hosted by MAC President and cable television personality Jamie DeRoy and moderated by Laura Slutsky of Real People/Peoplefinders Casting, the seminar will offer panelists Jerry Beaver, of Beaver & Associates, Ltd.; Joy Golden, President of Joy Radio; Merdith Jacobson Marciano of Amerifilm Casting, and Jerry Saviola of Grey Advertising.
Performers are invited to bring pictures and resumes for the panelists (audio-casettes for Golden).
Tickets are $2 for MAC members $10 for others, and no reservations are required. The seminar begins at 6 PM and takes place at the Lighthouse, 111 East 59th St., between Park & Lexington Avenue.
Future seminars include the MAC/ASCAP Songwriters' Showcase (March 5, July 16, Dec. 3) and a seminar on getting booked nationally and internationally (May 14).
