Instead of spending the holidays with Scrooge, the Grinch or even Santa Claus, Washington D.C. residents can travel the world in search of the perfect apple pie with the musical, How To Make An Apple Pie And See The World running Dec. 17-Jan. 7 at the Kennedy Center's Terrace Theatre. Playwright Wendy MacLeod and composer Michael Silversher collaborated on the family-oriented project, directed by SoHo Rep's Lisa Portes.

Along the way she travels through different cultures and meets, among others, a star-struck cow, a kindly wheat picker and a high bred chicken. MacLeod is best known for Sin - a Contemporary Morality Play and The House of Yes - A Suburban Jacobean Play. Siversher composed for Disney's Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea.
