News Macy and Stiles to Star in Screen Adaptation of Mamet's Edmond Casting has been announced for the upcoming screen adaptation of David Mamet's Edmond.

Variety reports that William H. Macy, Julia Stiles, Joe Mantegna and Mena Suvari will star in the Mamet film for Code Entertainment. Code Entertainment is the new moniker for the company previously titled Neverland Films. Production is currently underway for "Edmond," which features a screenplay by Mamet. Muse Entertainment is the film's co-producer.

An urban fable about a contemporary everyman whose search for meaning sends him on a dark and violent journey through a racially charged underworld, Edmond premiered at the Provincetown Playhouse in 1982. A revival of the drama opened the eleventh season of Off -Broadway's Atlantic Theater Company in 1996. Kenneth Branagh also made his debut at London's Royal National Theatre in Edmond in July 2003.

David Mamet is the author of Glengarry Glen Ross, American Buffalo, The Water Engine/Mr. Happiness, Speed-the-Plow and The Old Neighborhood. He is the recipient of a Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Glengarry Glen Ross. He was also Tony-nominated for both Glengarry Glen Ross and Speed-the Plow. A production of his play A Life in the Theatre recently opened in London starring Patrick Stewart and Joshua Jackson.
