A co-presentation of Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and Boston Landmarks Orchestra, the concert will take place Aug. 21 at 7 PM at the Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade. Adam Sanders will direct the concert, with Christopher Wilkins conducting.
Kudisch (The Apple Tree, 9 to 5) will star as Fred Graham/Patruchio, with O'Malley (Into the Woods, White Christmas) as Lilli Vanessi/Katherine.
The cast will also feature Jake Berger (Harry Trevor/Baptista), McCaela Donovan (Lois Lane/Bianca), Jake Novak (Ralph/ensemble), Sara Schoch (Hattie), Joe Aaron Reid (Paul), Andrew Burnap (Bill Calhoun/Lucentio), Brian Robinson (First Man/Gangster), Bryan Miner (Gremio/ensemble), Andrew Frank (Hortensio/Ensemble), Aubin Wise (ensemble), Lenni Kmiec (ensemble), Ceit Zweil (ensemble) and Yael Rizowy (ensemble).
Songs in the classic musical include "Wunderbar," "So In Love," "Why Can't You Behave," "Too Darn Hot" and "From This Moment On." Kiss Me, Kate has music and lyrics by Cole Porter and a book by Sam and Bella Spewack.
