According to a report in London's Daily Mail, the forthcoming London workshop for the production will now be directed by Paul Garrington, resident director on Mamma Mia!, whose global producer Judy Craymer is also producing Viva Forever. The book is being written by Jennifer Saunders.

It has also been reported by the U.K.'s Guardian newspaper that The Light Princess, a musical adaptation of George MacDonald's 19th century story featuring music and lyrics by Tori Amos and also due to be directed by Elliott, has been "postponed indefinitely."

It had originally been scheduled to open at the National's Lyttelton Theatre in April 2012. According to The Guardian report, "Despite numerous workshops, the musical has been deferred over fears it will not be ready in time; at present, there are no dates set for its world premiere."
