News   Marshall's Everybody Say "Cheese!," With Regalbuto and Rescher, Begins in CA
Everybody Say "Cheese!," a comedy by famed TV and film producer-director Garry Marshall, makes its West Coast premiere starting March 11 at the 130-seat Falcon Theatre in Burbank, CA.

Opening March 20 after previews, the staging stars Joe Regalbuto ("Murphy Brown") and DeeDee Rescher ("King of Queens"), with Cyrus Alexander, John Capodice, Heather Corwin, Joel Johnstone and Roberta Valderrama.

Everybody Say "Cheese!" is the final production in Falcon's 2008-09 all-comedy subscription season. Steve Zuckerman directs.

According to Falcon notes, "It's the '60s in the Bronx, for everyone but Harriet (DeeDee Rescher) and Leo Keenan (Joe Regalbuto). Harriet's about to turn 50, and after years of being the picture-perfect wife and mother, she decides it's time to join the women's movement before it stops moving. But her liberation requires the help of her husband, Leo, whose greatest ambition in life is to die before something happens to him."

Marshall is a veteran producer, director and writer of film, television and theatre. After graduating from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, he went on to create TV's "Happy Days," "Laverne & Shirley" and "Mork & Mindy." Marshall's stage credits include The Roast, which he co-wrote with Jerry Belson, and Wrong Turn at Lungfish, co-written with Lowell Ganz. Marshall has directed 16 movies, including "Pretty Woman," "Beaches" and "The Princess Diaries" (and its sequel). In 1997 he built the Falcon Theatre with his daughter Kathleen. Happy Days the Musical, written by Marshall and with music by Paul Williams, is currently on its national tour.

Everybody Say "Cheese!" continues to April 11. Talk-backs with playwright Marshall, will follow the shows on March 12, 18, 26, 29 and April 3 and 4.
