Shakespeare's tale will be presented in rep with Marivaux's La Dispute, with La Dispute running Sept. 12-Nov. 10 and Macbeth running Sept. 14-Nov. 10.

Both shows will be directed by artistic director Darko Tresnjak as part of the "Classical Repertory for a New Generation" initiative to produce two classic plays in repertory each season. Tresnjak and Elizabeth Williamson have written a new adaptation for La Dispute, from a translation by Williamson.

Rauch's stage credits include The Merchant of Venice, Prelude to a Kiss, Kin, Still Life and The Winter's Tale. His film and TV work includes "Banshee," "Blue Bloods," "Treme" and "Frankenfish."

The casts will feature Kate Forbes as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth and Carise in La Dispute and Kate MacCluggage as Lady Macduff in Macbeth and Hermianne in La Dispute. The company also includes Philippe Bowgen, Kaliswa Brewster, Robert Eli, Grant Goodman, Mahira Kakkar, David Manis and Noble Shropshire.

The creative team for both shows includes Suttirat Larlab and Joshua Pearson (costumes), Jedediah Ike (set design), Matthew Richards (lighting design) and Jane Shaw (sound design). Tresnjak will also create the set design for Macbeth.

Macbeth has been a popular production recently: Alan Cumming recently closed an adaptation of it on Broadway, and Ethan Hawke will star in an upcoming production in fall of 2013. As previously reported, a production co-directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh as part of the United Kingdom's Manchester International Festival has also sparked speculation of a Broadway transfer.
