Casting has been announced for a new production of John Ford's 'Tis Pity She's A Whore that will open the second season at the new indoor Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at Shakespare's Globe. It will begin performances Oct. 23 prior to an official opening Oct. 28, for a run through Dec. 7.

Max Bennett and Fiona Button will star as Giovanni and Annabella, the siblings whose doomed incestuous passion both threatens and throws into relief the incense-laden hypocrisy of the Italian court.

Bennett recently played Edmund in Chichester Festival Theatre's New York transfer of King Lear with Frank Langella. His other recent theatre credits include Relatively Speaking (Wyndhams), A Time to Reap and In Basildon (both Royal Court), Luise Miller (Donmar) and Harry Villiers in the West End transfer of Posh.

Button recently starred in Wendy and Peter Pan at the RSC and in Lucy Bailey's production of King Lear at the Theatre Royal, Bath. Other recent theatre credits include Heartbreak House (Chichester Festival Theatre), An Ideal Husband (Vaudeville) and Posh (Royal Court).

The cast also includes Stefano Braschi, Sam Cox, Philip Cumbus, Noma Dumezweni, James Garnon, Michael Gould, Alice Haig, Dean Nolan, Jethro Skinner, Daniel Rabin, Morag Siller and Edward Peel.

It is directed by Michael Longhurst (who directed the original production of Nick Payne's Constellations and is reprising it for Broadway with Jake Gyllenhaal). It is designed by Alex Lowde and composed by Simon Slater. To book tickets, contact the box office on 020 7401 9919, or visit www.shakespearesglobe.com.
