News Mazursky to Direct Catskill Sonata at Hayworth in L.A. Paul Mazursky will direct the world premiere of Michael Elias' play The Catskill Sonata at the Hayworth Theater in Los Angeles from March 9-April 14.

Variety reports that the play takes place at a Catskills resort in the midst of the 1950s blacklist. The lead character is a failed writer who dispenses advice to a bellhop. Mazursky has been nominated for five Oscars, for writing "Harry and Tonto," "An Unmarried Woman," "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice" and "Enemies: A Love Story" and for producing "An Unmarried Woman," which was nominated for Best Picture. He also wrote and directed "Down and Out in Beverly Hills" and has acted in many films and television shows.

Elias wrote the films "The Jerk" and "The Frisco Kid," among others.
