Who charms the husks right off of the corn? Sandy Duncan, of course.

Guy Stroman stages the intimate audience favorite, which will play a limited engagement at the Texas theatre through April 26. Driving Miss Daisy follows a Southern widow and her relationship with her African-American chauffer over 25 years. Duncan is cast as Daisy Wertham alongside actor George Merritt (Ain't Misbehavin', Jekyll & Hyde) as Hoke and David Coffee as Boolie Wertham.

The Casa Mañana production features costume design by LaLonnie Lehman, sound design by Ryan Mansfield and lighting design by John Bartenstein, Sam Rushen and Wally Jones.

Driving Miss Daisy debuted Off-Broadway in 1987 starring Dana Ivey and Morgan Freeman, running for 1,195 performances, and was later adapted into an Academy Award-winning film starring Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman. The tender work is the first play in Alfred Uhry's Atlanta Trilogy. It was followed by the 1997 Tony-Award winning The Last Night of Ballyhoo and concluded with the musical Parade, for which Uhry earned a Tony for Best Book of a Musical in 1999.

Sandy Duncan has appeared on Broadway in Chicago, Canterbury Tales (Tony Award nomination), The Boyfriend (Tony nomination), Peter Pan (Tony nomination) and My One and Only and Off-Broadway in Ceremony of Innocence and Your Own Thing and in Los Angeles in Vanities. On television she has appeared in "Funny Face" (Emmy nomination) and "Roots" (Emmy nomination), among other shows. She last appeared on the New York stage in the City Center Encores! production of No, No, Nannette in May 2008.

Tickets for Driving Miss Daisy, priced $29-$59, are available by phoning (817) 332-2272 or by visiting CasaMañana.
