The Plum Theatre Company will present the play at Dixon Place. According to press notes, "A hot night on South Beach gets even hotter when three strangers meet to watch an unprecedented meteor shower. In South Beach Rapture, Cynthia, a pretty New York socialite encounters two very different men: Albert, local college professor, and Felipe, a seductive hustler. But which meeting was written in the stars? The forty-something failed artist, or the sexy Latino rentboy? Or both?"
Caudle's plays include The Sunken Living Room, The Common Swallow, In Development, Likeness, Visiting Hours, and Feet of Clay, for which he also wrote the screenplay to the short film adaptation.
Performances of South Coast Rapture will take place Aug. 15 at 7 PM, Aug. 21 at 11 AM, Aug. 22 at 4:15 PM, Aug. 23 at 3:45 PM and Aug. 25 at 7:45 PM. Dixon Place is located at 161A Chrystie Street, between Rivington and Delancey Streets. For tickets, call (866) 468-7619 or visit fringenyc.org.
