Yo Quiero Actorfest!"
Carlos Alazraqui, voice of the Taco Bell chihuahua, and "Dharma & Greg"'s Mimi Kennedy are two of the top guest panelists at Backstage West's Actorfest, being held May 6 at Los Angeles' Hilton Universal City & Towers.
Returning after her first panel stint last year with her "Dharma & Greg" castmates, Kennedy leads "Supporting vs. Starring - Your Role as an Actor." Currently the "Earth mother" figure on "Dharma," Kennedy has appeared in theatre and television from originating the role of Jan in Broadway's Grease to roles on "Homefront" and "Savannah" and feature film work in "Death Becomes Her," "Chances Are" and "Erin Brockovich."
Alazaqui will discuss "Commercials: Your 30 or 60 seconds of Fame" at 1 PM with Scotty Leavenworth ("Green Mile," "Erin Brockovich"), who landed his first commercial at age four, and European actress Alexandra Boyd (three years of "Meow Mix" commercials).
Other panels include the 9 AM "BackStage Peek At Big Breaks In TV/Film With Opportunities Overseas" with Gene Roddenberry's widow, Majel Barrett Roddenberry and personalities from "Young and the Restless," "VIP" and "JAG"; "The Complete Hollywood Report on Hollywood's Hottest Agencies" with the Hollywood Reporter, and the final panel of the day, "Inside the Music Network - Career in the Music Industry Crossing Over to TV & Film." An all day pass for Actorfest is $35. The Hilton Universal City & Towers is located at 555 Universal Terrace Parkway. For tickets, call (323) 525 2225.
