Directed by Matthew Corozine, Gina Kim and Ryan Tofil's play features the talents of Wicked's Cristy Candler as well as Tessa Faye, Justin Gentry, Matthew McCurdy and playwrights Kim and Tofil.
In the world premiere of Miss Kim, press notes state, "one young woman tells her own story about surviving sexual abuse (from her uncle when she was eight), family denial, her own attempted suicide, the ups and downs of dating and self-help groups, and finding the strength to come out whole on the other side. Gina Kim leads a six-member cast which shines a harsh spotlight on subjects and secrets many people would prefer to leave in the shadows of silence in this timely, provocative, and ultimately uplifting tale."
Dana Scott Rae is the assistant director for the Equity Showcase; stage manager is Linda Eicher.
Performances continue through Aug. 27.
