News Mitchell's The Boys Upstairs Begins FringeNYC Run Aug. 15 Jason Mitchell's look at young gay life in Hell's Kitchen, The Boys Upstairs, begins performances Aug. 15.

Matthew Corozine (The Maidens Prayer) directs the production, part of FringeNYC, which runs through Aug. 30 at the SoHo Playhouse.

The world premiere of Mitchell's play features Kristen-Alexzander Griffith (Rent national tour), Nic Cory (The Rocky Horror Show Off-Broadway), Josh Segarra ("The Electric Company"), Joel T. Bauer (Dr. Doolittle) and David A. Rudd (The Fabulous Kane Sisters).

The play is described as "a New York story that invites you upstairs to the fabulous living room of a group of Hell Kitchen gay boys who handle relationships, careers, and the city with style, scandal, and specialty cocktails!"

Designing the production are Justin Couchara (scenic and costume design), Nick Gonsman (lighting and sound design) and Abbi Stern (associate costume design).

A fall reading of the play featured Michael Arden, Tyler Maynard, Colin Hanlon, Stephen Bienskie and David A. Rudd under the direction of Tony nominee Christopher Gattelli. Mitchell is also the playwright of The Red Box. For tickets and further information phone (212) 279-4488 or visit FringeNYC.
