News "Modern Family" Star Sarah Hyland Leads Scream! Musical Parody in L.A. Starting Tonight A new, unauthorized musical parody of the comedic screen horror franchise "Scream" premieres in Los Angeles Oct. 10 with a cast that includes "Modern Family" cast member Sarah Hyland and Wicked actress Nicole Parker.

Michael Gans and Richard Register wrote the parody that will officially open Oct. 18 for a run through Nov. 15 at Rockwell Table and Stage.

Hyland and Parker are joined by a cast that includes Missi Pyle ("The Artist," "Galaxy Quest"), Ginifer King ("Haunted Hathaways," Gypsy), Alex Ellis (On a Clear Day, Catch Me If You Can), Christine Lakin (Silence! The Musical, "Family Guy"), Gwen Hollander ("The Thundermans," Little Women), Jonah Platt (Hair), Benjamin Schrader (The Book of Mormon), Jimmy Ray Bennett ("Star Trek"), Tom Lenk ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), Peter Vogt ("MAD TV"), Carly Jibson (Cry-Baby, Hairspray), Tyler Scheef (The Rocky Horror Show), John Flynn ("Improv KING") and Molly McCook ("Agents of SHIELD").

Brian P. Kennedy is musical director. Lighting design is by Michelle Stann. Kate Pazakis is the executive producer for Scream.

Scream! launches Rockwell's Unauthorized Musical Parodies. Here's how it's billed: "This hyperbolic retelling ups the ante from the camp of the original with live on-stage blood, beyond reverent narration, and the infamous killer mask donned by our very own 'Screamettes.'"
