Aspenlieder began performances in the solo comedy March 19 and suffered a physical injury, forcing her to withdraw from the production. Morris, who recently starred in Bad Dates for Long Wharf Theatre, officially assumes the role of displaced Texan Haley Walker April 3. Performances continue through April 12 under the direction of Adrianne Krstansky.
Merrimack notes for Bad Dates read: "A single mother with a teenage daughter, a screamingly stressful job, and a collection of 600 pairs of shoes, Haley Walker tries to find love in the big city. Relive her rotten romances as Tibetan Buddhists and even the Romanian mob get in the way of her finding 'Mr. Right.'"
Designing the production are Susan Zeeman Rogers (scenic design), Deborah Newhall (costume design), David Wilson (sound design) and Matthew Miller (lighting design). Long Wharf costumer Jessica Wegener supplies Ms. Morris' costumes.
Morris' stage credits include Tartuffe: Born Again, Uncommon Women and Others, Rodney's Wife and The Uneasy Chair. On screen she is known for her work in "Who's That Girl," "Reckless," "Love or Money," "Home Alone 3," "One Tree Hill," "One Life To Live," "Sex and the City," "Cosby" and "Family Ties."
